"Walking Barbados" describes a hike that circumnavigates the entire island of Barbados. When it is complete, it will give you an excellent impression of the island, as it was in August 2003. Many of the areas we walked are seldom seen by visitors, as they are inaccessible by road, or are well off the tourist map. As a travel destination, Barbados has a lot going for it. It is not really pushed as a holiday destination for active people. If you enjoy hiking, you might enjoy Barbados as a destination. The potential is there, as the island has a magnificent coastline, and although there is no official path, it is possible to make your way around the entire island, with the odd hiccup. The island only has 99.8km of coastline. Much of it is still reasonably unspoiled, although the pace of development means things are constantly changing, and little of the coastline is protected properly. If you are planning a vacation in Barbados, you might be interested to look over this blog. It is image rich. You will see beautiful beaches, secluded coves and scenery that few other websites that deal with Barbados will show you.
